LABORATORY OF BIOCHEMISTRY AND BIOPROCESS
The Biochemistry and Bioprocess Laboratory has its activities connected with both PPGCTA research areas, as it contributes to the development of new processes to be used in the food industry, as microencapsulation of antioxidants. In this lab, submerged or solid state bioprocesses were developed to obtain bioproducts such as biofuels, antioxidants, antimicrobials, lipases, biopeptides, among others. Microorganisms such as lactic acid bacteria, yeast, microalgae (especially Spirulina, Scenedesmus and Chlorella) and filamentous fungi (Aspergillus) are used.
